Born in Montichiari (BS) on 6 March 1962.
Graduated from the University of Milan. He carried out his professional activity for over ten years at the firm of Avv. Nerio Diodà of Milan.
In 2001 he established the “Brusa Spagnolo Tosoni & Partners Law Firm”, of which he is a founding partner.
During his professional activity, he acquired a criminal law specialization in the field of economic crimes (banking, financial, corporate and bankruptcy), crimes against the Public Administration, culpable crimes in general and for medical professional responsibility, for violation of accident prevention, workplace hygiene and environmental protection regulations.
In particular, he has assumed defensive mandates in the main criminal trials of recent years, including: the trial for bankruptcy and stock manipulation of Parmalat, the trial for banking crimes of Banca Popolare di Lodi, the trial for the so-called "Telecom case", the trial of the so-called derivatives and that for false accounting of Banca Italease, the investigation for obstacles to the supervisory activity of the top management of Ubi Banca.
He has been for sixteen years, since its establishment, President of the "Free Forensic Association", which is joined by professionals from the world of law from all over Italy: the association established in 1997 takes care of the elaboration and dissemination of judgments on the problems of justice and organizes debates and public conferences on these issues. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the "Center for Studies and Research of Criminal Law of the Economy" in Milan.
He has participated as a speaker at numerous conferences on the legal liability of entities pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/01 and crimes against the Public Administration.
He was lecturer - trainer at the “School of Specialization for the Forensic Professions” of the University of Milan, in the field of criminal law.
In March 2015 he was elected councilor of the Milan Bar Association and holds the position of Vice-President of the Forensic Foundation and member of the Board of Directors of the Forensic School: he takes care of the compulsory criminal training for members of the Milan Bar. and, in this capacity, organizes and coordinates conferences and training events in the various specializations of criminal law.
In May 2018 he won the Le Fonti Award as Lawyer of the Year Corporate Criminal Law, with the following motivation: for the high specialization achieved in the field of economic and corporate crimes, both in judicial and consultancy activities, this the latter provided to both private and public entities with a view to managing the criminal risk associated with entrepreneurial activity.
In 2021 he was appointed member of the Ministerial Commission for the implementation of the delegated law for the reform of the criminal trial, upon the appointment of the Minister of Justice, Dr. Marta Cartabia.
